LGfL DigiSafe launch Hope & Streams report
40,000 pupils took part in this year’s LGfL DigiSafe pupil online-safety survey about their online lives. The report highlights what pupils love and what they hate, what really goes on behind closed screens, and who they trust when things go wrong.
Some of the key statistics include:
- Over 50% of pupils said privacy settings should be better, easier and clearer.
- 73% of pupils trust parents on online safety, but only 56% talk about it more than once a year.
- 41% of 15-16 year olds have seen violent images or videos online.
- Secondary students are 7 times more likely to say online safety at school just aims to scare them.
