In early May, we are upgrading our current Janet Internet Connections from 20Gb to 40Gb, doubling internet capacity allowing for future growth as our schools continue to demand higher bandwidth to meet the Department of Education Standards for school broadband connectivity.

The Janet Network (provided by JISC) continues to provide a robust, secure internet connectivity supported by their Critical Services Protection (CSP). Providing a layered approach to cyber security to achieve defence in depth, securing your school’s network from malicious attacks such as DDoS.

Due to the resilient architecture of the emPSN network, the planned upgrades should not be service effecting. Currently we are planning to upgrade the first data centre internet feed on the evening of the 4th May 2023, followed by the second upgrading on the evening of the 9th May 2023.
