IT Support can be wide and varied but for schools and Local Authorities who often have strict guidelines to follow in order to adhere to various policies and protocol, managing the IT requirements can quite often be a nightmare.
Many primary schools often do not have the budget for a specific member of staff to manage their IT e.g. a Network Manager or ICT Co-ordinator and very often, we find that teachers are also given this role simply because they may know a bit more about computers than any of their colleagues. Unfortunately, most teachers do not have the time to manage this effectively.
