emPSN and Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) have been working together for over 20 years, supporting schools across Lincolnshire in accessing fast, safe and secure, and reliable internet connectivity and IT services.

Managed Connectivity Services for schools

The procurement of a new contract for your connectivity services is now underway.  We anticipate this will be complete by May 2022,  when we expect to be able to confirm continuity offers to you for services from 1st November 2022.  However we expect to be able to advise you of your future pricing from emPSN by the end of April 2022.

This procurement will ensure that emPSN and Lincolnshire County Council retain high-quality services and a competitive market price for your connectivity services going forward which will benefit all schools as well as the County and District Councils.

Any change of connectivity service provider will likely be because of an improved price and/ or quality of service being offered; it is a condition of the procurement that your current service will continue without any disruption.

We will provide a safe, secure, and reliable public sector and schools network supported by strong and accessible management services, which extend beyond the provision of an internet connection.

To maintain your current Connectivity and Application services or seek enhanced services via a direct contract with emPSN, email the team at support@empsn.org.uk

If you cannot find the answer here to any questions you may have or wish to talk through your options, please call Kathryn Young on 01604 438043.

For further information, please refer to the letter you received on the 10th January 2022 from Lincolnshire County Council.

emPSN and Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) – A working partnership

Lincolnshire County Council is an owner of emPSN. emPSN is a not-for-profit Company, here for the public good, supporting Lincolnshire and other schools in the East Midlands now and into the future.

Lincolnshire schools core broadband service charges have been funded from the Lincolnshire Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) since 2012. From 2022 this will change, as LCC can no longer access this Central Services Block funding schools will no longer benefit from this funding.

emPSN will continue to provide the same connectivity and IT services as always. Removal of this grant does not have to mean a change to your services as emPSN is here to ensure there is a smooth transition with no impact to your service.  In preparation for the changes to funding from November 2022, we will be communicating with Lincolnshire schools direct with continuity options working with Lincolnshire County Council to ensure a smooth change.
