Our first Safe Online Workshop went ahead last week in Hinckley, followed shortly by our Nottingham event yesterday.

Last week Schools from the Hinckley area gathered at The Meeting Place, where we discussed how Online Safety and Security continues to change and the challenges schools face from it. Leicestershire Police presented at our Hinckley workshop, sharing the latest advice they had for teachers and parents on the dangers of social media and tools they could use to keep young people safe.

Yesterday the emPSN team were back on the road, delivering another Safe Online Workshop in Nottingham. Another great group of representatives from schools attended, including IT technicians, teaching staff and safeguarding leads. At this workshop we also had a presentation from Ben Smith from Netsweeper who discussed how web filtering is constantly changing and how this relates to the Prevent duty of care legislation.
